How to Use This Generator
Choose the categories that excite you, set your life stage, and pick how many ideas you want. Generate a batch, check off the ones you have already done, and add your own dreams to the list. Everything saves automatically in your browser.
Tick the categories you want ideas from: travel, adventure, food, learning, giving, or experiences. Pick one or all six.
Set your life stage and how many ideas to deal. Twenty is a good starting batch.
Press Generate Ideas. Check off anything you have already done; your progress bar updates and your checks are saved.
Add custom items with the box at the bottom, copy your list to share it, or generate again for a fresh batch.
How the Ideas Are Chosen
The bank holds 154 hand-written ideas across six categories. Each idea is specific enough to actually plan: not "travel more" but "Watch sunrise from the summit of Haleakala crater in Maui". Ideas also carry life-stage tags, so a batch generated for your 30s leads with ideas suited to this decade of life, while still mixing in timeless ones. Within those rules the order is shuffled, so every generation feels fresh. Nothing here is scraped or auto-generated filler.
Worked Example
Choose travel only, life stage 30s, and ask for 8 ideas. A typical batch looks like this: Watch sunrise from the summit of Haleakala crater in Maui. Hike the cliff trail between Monterosso and Vernazza in Cinque Terre. See the northern lights from Tromso, Norway. Take a hot air balloon over Cappadocia at sunrise. Walk the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. Take a road trip around Iceland's Ring Road. Spend a week in Tokyo, from Shibuya to quiet temples. Check off the ones you have done, add "Visit all 50 states" as a custom item, and copy the list to share with a travel partner.
Making the List Work
A bucket list only matters if you look at it. Keep the batch small enough to feel real: twenty ideas you might actually do beats two hundred you will not. Put one idea on the calendar within the next 90 days, even a small one like a local food tour. Review the list every New Year, check off what you did, and generate a fresh batch to refill it. Sharing the list with a friend or partner doubles the odds anything gets done, because now someone will ask about it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are the ideas picked?
Every idea is hand-written, not scraped: specific and doable, like "Watch sunrise from Haleakala crater" instead of "travel more". Each idea carries a category and life-stage tags. When you generate, the tool filters by your chosen categories, puts ideas matching your life stage first, shuffles them for variety, and deals you the count you asked for.
Does my list save if I close the page?
Yes. Checked-off items and your custom additions are stored in your browser's localStorage under the key tb_bucket_list, so they survive closing the tab and restarting the browser. Nothing is sent to any server. Clearing your browser data will erase the list, so use the copy button to keep a backup somewhere safe.
Can I add my own custom items?
Yes. Type any goal into the custom box and press Add. Custom items appear in their own section, count toward your progress, save the same way, and are included when you copy your list.
How do I share my list?
Press "Copy My List" to copy a plain-text version with checkboxes, then paste it into a message, email, or notes app. It works everywhere because it is just text.
Can I print my list?
Yes. Copy the list, paste it into any document or notes app, and print from there. For a nicer result, paste it into a document, bump the font size, and you have a one-page bucket list for the fridge.
