Delete PDF Pages
Click thumbnails to mark pages for deletion, then save the rest. Your file never leaves your browser.
How to Delete Pages from a PDF
Upload your PDF and wait a moment while the tool renders a thumbnail for every page. Click any thumbnail to mark that page for deletion. Marked pages show a red tint and a trash icon so you can see your selection at a glance. Use the Invert button when you want to keep just a few pages: select all, then uncheck the keepers, then invert. The counter tells you exactly how many pages are marked. When the selection is right, click Delete Selected Pages. The tool copies every unmarked page into a brand-new PDF and downloads it, leaving your original file untouched.
Common Uses
Stripping blank pages out of a scan, removing the cover sheet before sharing a report, cutting an unwanted chapter from a draft, or deleting the terms-and-conditions tail from a form you only need the first pages of. Because the output is a fresh file, the original stays on your device as a backup, so an accidental deletion is always recoverable by running the tool again. If instead you want to keep only certain pages and discard the rest, the Extract Pages tool does that in one step with typed page ranges.
Quality and Privacy
Kept pages are copied without re-rendering, so quality is preserved exactly. Page numbers in the output restart from the kept pages in order; the tool does not renumber content inside the pages themselves. All rendering and assembly happen locally with PDF.js and pdf-lib. Nothing uploads, nothing is stored, and the tool works offline after the page loads. Encrypted PDFs cannot be opened; remove the password first in a desktop reader.
After Deleting
The trimmed PDF is a normal file you can keep editing: merge it with others, split it further, or compress it for email. Because the original was never touched, you can also produce variants, like a full version and a redacted version for different audiences, from the same source. If page numbers inside the document text now skip (because you removed pages 4-6), remember that printed folio numbers are part of the page content and do not renumber themselves.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I delete pages from a PDF?
Upload your PDF and the tool renders a thumbnail of every page. Click thumbnails to mark pages for deletion; marked pages get a red overlay and a trash badge. Click Delete Selected Pages and the tool builds a new PDF containing only the unmarked pages, then downloads it. Your original file is never modified, and nothing is uploaded to any server.
Can I delete multiple pages at once?
Yes, click as many thumbnails as you like before hitting delete. There are also shortcut buttons: Select All, Clear Selection, and Invert Selection, which are handy when you want to keep only a few pages out of many. The counter above the grid always shows how many pages are marked.
Will deleting pages affect the quality of the remaining pages?
No. The remaining pages are copied into the new PDF without re-rendering, so text, images, and vector graphics keep their original quality. The output is a fully valid PDF. Only the deleted pages are gone; everything else is byte-for-byte the same content.
What if I delete the wrong pages by mistake?
Just re-run the tool on your original file, which is untouched on your device. The tool always reads from the original upload, so a mistake costs you nothing but a few seconds. Double-check the red-marked thumbnails before clicking delete, especially in long documents where page numbers matter.
Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?
No. The underlying pdf-lib library cannot open encrypted PDFs, so password-protected files are rejected with an error message. Remove the password in a desktop PDF reader first (usually File, Print to PDF, or Security settings), then delete pages here. This limitation also means the tool can never accidentally expose a protected document.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
Never. Thumbnails are rendered locally with PDF.js and the new PDF is assembled with pdf-lib, both running in your browser tab. No file data leaves your device at any point, making the tool safe for confidential contracts, legal filings, and personal records.
